Through the dedication of our visitors, volunteers, and staff, our goal is keeping history alive through events, fundraisers, reenactments, etc. The Historic Village at Allaire (known as The Howell Iron Works in the 1830′s), was an iron producing, industrial village owned and operated by James P. Our museum opened in 1957 and is run by historic interpreters, school tour guides, performers, and vol

unteers of all ages. Our historic buildings include the Allaire Chapel, The General Store, Blacksmith’s Shop, Gardener’s Cottage, the Allaire Mansion, and more. Allaire Village, Incorporated is licensed by the State of New Jersey to operate the 40-acre, Historic Village at Allaire, the site of James P. Allaire’s Howell Iron Works Company in the 1830s. receives no state funding towards the educational programming presented throughout the year, but is strongly supported through private donations, membership fees, fund-raising events and patronage of our retail stores. received an operating support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State. Cultural Programs are made possible by a grant from the OceanFirst Foundation. The Historic Village at Allaire is located in Allaire State Park at 4263 Atlantic Avenue in Farmingdale, NJ, off Exit 98 of the Garden State Parkway and off Exit 31B of Interstate 195. Join us for the Fall Craft & Vendor Show at The Historic Village at Allaire!

Saturday, September 26, from 10am to 4pm, shop from more than 150 local crafters, artisans, and vendors offering a wonderful variety of handmade goods, including art, textiles, pottery, candles, jewelry, woodwork, home décor and more.

Enjoy a day of shopping, delicious treats from our newly designed bakery, visits to Allaire’s historic buildings and great Allaire Branded items, souvenirs and gifts from the General Store.

Admission: $5 per person
Ages 10 and under: Free
Allaire members: Free admission
Rain date: Sunday, September 27

The event will be held within Allaire State Park at 4263 Atlantic Avenue, Farmingdale, NJ 07727. All proceeds benefit the nonprofit organization that operates Allaire Village!

Discover history through hands-on learning at Homeschool Day at The Historic Village at Allaire!

Join us on Wednesday, September 9, from 11am to 4pm for an engaging day of exploration, discovery, and fun inspired by childhood life in the 1830s.

Students and families can:

🍎Meet knowledgeable interpreters dressed in period clothing.
🍎Watch traditional crafts and trades.
🍎Explore historic homes and community spaces.
🍎Enjoy historic demonstrations
and part in a fun scavenger hunt.
🍎Visit the bakery, general store, and other historic buildings.

This special educational experience offers homeschool families the chance to step back in time and learn what daily life was like in an early 19th-century village.
