Yes, it is true, our Fire Tax Rate is going up. For the last two years our Fire Tax Rate has been $0.038. In 2024, the Fire Tax Rate will be going up to $0.0435. This will still be the lowest Fire Tax Rate in Howell Township by far. What people are not telling you is that we lowered the Fire Tax Rate for the last two years, because expenses were down, and we wanted to pass the savings on to the Tax Payers. We have to put the Fire Tax Rate back, close to where it was before the COVID-19 outbreak, as things continue to get back to normal. See for yourself. The following chart was listed on the Howell Township Website. We continually have the lowest Fire Tax Rate in Howell Township. We need your support to pass the Budget Referendum on February 17, 2024. Voting will take place between 2pm and 9pm, at the Adelphia Fire Station #2, 993 Route 33, Freehold NJ 07728. This Firehouse is in Howell Township, but GPS need the Freehold address.
