The UPD family wish Police Officer Luis Llano, Shield #167, a happy, healthy, and well earned retirement and congratulate him for his career of nearly 28 years with the New York State University Police Department.

Officer Llano began his career with NYSUP at Farmingdale State College in 1998. Throughout his years of dedicated service, he has shown his commitment to the safety and well-bein well-being of the campus community. His dedication to this department as a Defensive Tactics Instructor, CPR Instructor, Community Relations Officer, and the countless lives he has touched has left a lasting memory that will not be forgotten.

PO Llano's walk out ceremony concluded with a special guest, as his final radio call was read by none other than his son, a sworn Police Officer for a Connecticut municipal agency.

Luis, you have served Farmingdale State College with honor, and your presence will be greatly missed.

NYS has declared a state of emergency for Suffolk county, and Suffolk County OEM a blizzard warning through Monday. Conditions are expected to deteriorate late Sunday into Monday.

Campus activities have been canceled for today. Stay off of the roads so that crews can work on clearing the over 12" of snow currently forecasted.

Your NYS University Police are always on duty and ready to respond. Think smart, be safe!

Rest in peace, Mr. Daugherty. We will continue to hold the Daugherty family in our thoughts and prayers
