4/25/2026 UPDATE:

Just a reminder, we are open and our food shelves are currently full! Come fill a bag or two with whatever you need at 4002 Murvaul!

Due to the rainy and hot season ahead, the porch shelf will start cycling out canned inventory to prevent rust and spoilage. As the USDA recommends keeping all canned food in cool, dry conditons below 85 degrees; just as during freezing conditions, during the hottest part of the year we will be trialing sealed dry goods only.

To keep everything in-date and properly stored, overflow may be donated to the Farmersville Outreach Center and other local pantries and churches.

LIBRARY NEWS:

Thanks to the Friends of the Wylie Library Booksale, we have several new-to-us ex-library titles available for kids, adults, and teens. We are also about to acquire some YA titles that we hope to get on the shelf soon.

Please come and take what you need!

We are closed today as the walkway and roads are frozen. We will resume operations when after the thaw. Stat warm!

1/23/25 — Last call! All canned goods will be moved inside tonight before the freezing temperatures move in. Operations will be reduced to dry goods only, and for the safety of everyone, we reserve the right to temporarily close the box if conditions are too hazardous to safely approach. If roads and walkways are impassable, the porch pantry will be closed.

We have plenty of food, and bags available so that you can shop whatever you need. Make sure you come before 8PM!

Directions: located in the Lakehaven, Farmersville on Murvaul Drive. Blue house with "Free Library" flag in front, house 4002. The porch light will be on all day.

Fair warning, GPS tends to mislabel streets and house numbers in the neighborhood and is likely to take you to the wrong place if that's all you rely on. (They don't call us "Losthaven" for nothing! 😆).

We do, however, have a map with the official Little Free Library that will help you find our street and the box based on landmarks. It is an easy find once you get here!

1/21/25 UPDATE! Come get your food before the storm!

Thanks to the love of our Lakehaven Community, our shelves are STOCKED! We have reorganized the shelves with convienience meals, soups, snacks, and vegetables on the top shelf, and breakfast, dry goods, and baking on the bottom shelf! ❤️

If you are in need of non perishables before the winter storm, please come by TODAY or TOMORROW, grab a bag and take whatever you need! If you must come during the winter storm please take caution, whether you drive, or you walk on the driveway and sidewalks, as the weather may be cold and icy.

During freezing temperatures, all canned goods with high liquid content are moved indoors and the pantry will be limited to dry goods only. This is because in extreme temperatures, canned goods can be prone to freezing, warping, or bursting.

As always, its the blue house on Murvaul with the "Free Library" flag! Hoping everyone stays warm and safe during this cold weather!

Merry Christmas! The shelf is still open today and tomorrow for anything you need. On the adult shelf we just added some Christmas mysteries, and on the food shelf we have hot cocoa sachets and sweet treats! Look for the blue house on Murvaul with the "Free Library" flag out front!

Our porch light will be on all night tonight (and tomorrow as well), in case Santa and his reindeer drop by for a late night snack 🎅🎄🦌

Due to the weather, all food items from the rolling cart and all picture books on the outside shelf have been moved inside the cabinet! Help yourselves to whatever you need!

Happy Tuesday! As of Sunday, we've rotated in some new titles to the adult fiction, children's books, and teen books!

We also have more food in our grab-and-go cart full of easy meals. Please come and take whatever you need! Delivery drivers and neighbors from surrounding cities are always welcome. If you have a belly to fill, it's here for you, no questions asked.

If you need help finding us, we are in Lakehaven Farmersville. Find us on the FLL map, which has helpful tips to find our cabinet! (Look for the "FREE LIBRARY" flag at the blue house on Murvaul!)

Good Morning Lakehaven! We are projected to dip below freezing sometime this evening, so we will be moving some pantry items. Glass jars, beverages, or any other product prone to leaking and freezing will be inside until the end of the freeze. Dry goods will still be available on the main shelves. Thank you!
