Engineer Scott Armstrong was honored last night at the Knights of Columbus dinner in Exeter as the 2022 Firefighter of the Year.

Scott came to Farmersville in 2021 and rapidly proved himself to be an asset on and off the fireground leading to his promotion to Engineer.

He came to us with several years of experience with the City of Kingsburg Fire Department and Kerman Police Department.

Scott continually seeks ways to help and we look forward to what the future holds.

We're still outfitting it and training on it so we aren't responding to calls in it yet but you may see us driving around town.

We will share more pictures and details soon.

Shortly after the Library Fire, PFD commissioned a Multi-Agency Serious Accident Review Team (S.A.R.T) to review the incident. Today, the S.A.R.T released its report to the department. To view a copy of the report, go to http://www.ci.porterville.ca.us/depts/Fire/

Today is the one year anniversary of the deaths of Captain Figueroa and Firefighter Jones.

We continue to mourn their loss and stand with our brothers and sisters at Porterville Fire as they move forward everyday to honor these brave men.

Happy (Belated) New Year. 2021 is well underway but we wanted to share that the Farmersville Volunteer Fire Company kept busy during 2020.

We ran 1219 calls, approximately 200 calls less than in 2019.

This was due to the opening of County Fire Station 1 nearby and some response changes due to COVID-19. Those changes have been reversed and so far we have run over 130 calls for service for the month of January.

We have kept just as busy this year and have some exciting news to share in the coming weeks!
