Have questions? Need a vaccine? Walk-in immunization clinics are offered every Tuesday from 1- 4 p.m. at the Public Health Office, 320 Third Street NW, Faribault. Appointments are encouraged-- call Public Health at 507-332-6111 to schedule an appointment; however, walk-ins are welcome.
Adults 19 years and older must live in Rice County. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian or have signed permission to be vaccinated.

The Great Minnesota Get Together starts this week. While you can breastfeed anywhere at the fair, here are five areas dedicated to breastfeeding families at the State Fair:
• Family & Baby Care, located on West Dan Patch Avenue south of West End Market and north of Mighty Midway. Private and semi-private rooms are available on a first-come basis. Open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily (8 p.m. Labor Day).
• Momentum Refresh, located on east side of Cosgrove Street, north of Lee Avenue.
• myTalk 107.1, located on the west side of Underwood Street between Randall and Wright avenues.
• TPT | Twin Cities PBS, located on the west side of Underwood Street at the intersection of Lee Avenue.
• KaiBi Mobile Family Care Center, located on the west side of Underwood Street between Carnes & Judson avenues.
All nursing facilities provide electricity.

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is hosting the 2026 Radon Poster Contest! Posters can be submitted through November 9, 2026. This offers a wonderful way for kids to get creative and learn about radon. This poster contest is open to children in Minnesota in grades 4 – 8.

There are separate cash prizes for two grade categories: grades 4 – 6 and grades 7 – 8. First place in each category receives a $100 gift card. More prize information is on our webpage.

Rice County is exploring development of a trail along Cannon City Boulevard (County Road 20) to connect Dundas/Northfield and the Cannon River Wilderness Area.

As part of the process, we've got a short survey related to individuals' use of the corridor and preferences for future improvements. Information from the survey will help guide decisions related to the proposed shared-use trail.
