This summer we will have a Youth Book Club. Our fist meeting will be June 18th at 10:00.
The Cub in the Cupboard by Ben M. Baglio
When best friends Mandy and James find a mother fox caught in a cruel trap, they are determined to nurse her back to health. Along the way, they must find a safe temporary home for her mischievous and frisky baby cub, who frequently escapes her crate. The friends must also track down the person setting illegal traps in the area to keep the local wildlife safe before the foxes can be released back into the wild.

Our book for June will be The Bookshop By Penelope Fitzgerald.
In 1959 Florence Green, a kindhearted widow with a small inheritance, risks everything to open a bookshop - the only bookshop - in the seaside town of Hardborough. By making a success of a business so impractical, she invites the hostility of the town's less prosperous shopkeepers. By daring to enlarge her neighbors' lives, she crosses Mrs. Gamart, the local arts doyenne. Florence's warehouse leaks, her cellar seeps, and the shop is apparently haunted. Only too late does she begin to suspect the truth: a town that lacks a bookshop isn't always a town that wants one.

As always, we have extra copies available at the library. We will meet again July 9th to discuss this book.
