From the officers answering critical calls and leading complex investigations, to the community outreach that builds lasting trust—your impact is felt in every corner of Falmouth.

We also want to recognize our clinicians, administrative staff and domestic violence advocate. Your expertise and dedication keeps this department running strong and efficiently. And we certainly can't forget our hardworking female K-9, Renata! Her dedication and constant tail wagging bring happiness and a smile to our patrol team.

To the women of the Falmouth Police Department and all those in the law enforcement family nationwide: thank you for your sacrifices, your bravery, and your steadfast commitment. Your leadership inspires us all.

🚧 TRAFFIC UPDATE – SEWER CONSTRUCTION 🚧
Week of September 14th, 2026

Motorists should expect road closures and detours next week as work continues on the Great Pond Sewer Project.

Beginning the week of September 14, the following closures will be in effect on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM:

🔹 Brick Kiln Road will be closed to through traffic between Sandwich Road and Gifford Street.

🔹 Teaticket Highway (Route 28) will be closed to through traffic between Maravista Avenue Extension and Domino’s Pizza (667 Teaticket Highway).

Additional sewer work is also scheduled on:

• Nickerson Street
• English Street
• Oak Ridge Road
• Playstead Lane

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow all posted detours and traffic controls.

⚠️ POWER OUTAGE – SIPPWISSETT AREA ⚠️

There is a downed wire in the Sippwissett area causing a power outage. Crews are currently working to make the area safe and restore power.

Please do not call the Falmouth Police or Fire Departments simply to report a power outage. These calls tie up emergency phone lines that need to remain available for emergencies.

Power outages should be reported directly to Eversource and you can Text STAT to 23129 to get power alerts and restoration times.

Power outages do happen and when they do, Eversource works diligently to safely and quickly restore our customers’ power.

Press Release

On August 31st, 2026, at approximately 5:49pm, the Falmouth Police Department and the Falmouth Fire and Rescue Department responded to Jenkins Pond for a reported drowning. Responders arrived and learned two individuals were paddle-boarding when one fell off and entered the water.

Falmouth Fire and Rescue deployed a boat, extracted the victim from the water, and immediately began life-saving measures. The victim, an 18-year-old male from Connecticut, was transported to Falmouth Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Both Falmouth Marine and Environmental Services and the Massachusetts State Environmental Police responded to assist. Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office responded and took jurisdiction of the investigation.

All further inquiries should be directed to the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office.

🔥 WELD… THIS IS AWKWARD. 🔥
Someone appears to have lost a cutting torch on Waquoit Highway. We’re guessing there’s a welder out there wondering why their equipment inventory suddenly feels a little lighter. 👨‍🏭
Luckily, one of our officers located the torch before it could start a new career on the side of the road.
If this belongs to you, please contact the Falmouth Police Department to claim it.
And remember: measure twice, cut once… and secure your equipment before hitting the road. 😂

Press Release

On August 31, 2026, at approximately 3:06 a.m., the Falmouth Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting an assault involving multiple weapons in the Jenkins Pond area.

Officers arrived and located an adult male suffering from serious injuries. Falmouth Fire and Rescue provided medical treatment and transported the victim to an area hospital.

Falmouth Police Detectives responded and were assisted by the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation. The investigation revealed that the victim had been struck with a baseball bat and cut with a box cutter, and that the suspect had threatened the victim with a bow and arrow.

As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Falmouth man was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault and Battery, and Mayhem.

The victim is reported to be in stable condition. The defendant was arraigned this afternoon at Falmouth District Court, where he was ordered held.

Additional identifying information is being withheld in accordance with Massachusetts law.
