**UPDATE- 1830hrs**
We have engaged the FirstNet response team. We have received confirmation that the degredation of the cell network in the affected area is due to significant upgrades that are being performed on the previously mentioned tower. We have requested a deployable solution (cell on wheels) to hopefully provide some form of essential LTE network in the City of Kenedy and surrounding area.
**UPDATE - 13:30hrs**
The outage appears to be limited to the SOUTH end of Karnes County, in the Kenedy and Runge areas. AT&T is noted to be in the area working on a cell tower North of HWY-72, which may be the reason for the partial outage. As of this afternoon, no official report of an outage from AT&T has been made.
We are aware of the AT&T service outage in the county today. As always, 911 lines remain in service at the Karnes County Sheriff's Office,. Many newer phones have the ability to connect to satellite technology if you are outside and in line of sight to the open sky. If you have an emergency and your phone is in SOS mode, try going outside with a clear view to the sky to place your call to 911, or connect to WIFI if available. At this time we have no updates available about when service will be restored.
