Good morning FB Fam! Virtual learning has begun in Fairfax County and other school systems around the country. This is new and unchartered territory for most. Just because being online is now school, you must continue to be vigilant about internet safety. Here are some tips to keep everyone safe online:

1. Set up a dedicated space for schoolwork. Avoid putting the space in the child’s bedroom! Set up a shared work space because chances are, you are working from home too!
2. Make sure you are aware and familiar with the online technology used by the school system and the policy for use.
3. If your child uses Zoom or other video service, help them get online and check on them periodically.,
4. Discourage private interactions with child and teacher when a caregiver is not present.
5. Keep distractions to a minimum by not allowing tv, music, pets, sibling, etc to interrupt school day.
6. Everyone is learning this new normal so please give constructive feedback on the process, avoid complaints and arguments.
7. Continue to ask students about their learning experience and safety on the internet.

Good luck parents, you got this!!!
