No parent should have to get the call that there is a shooting in their child’s school. I am thankful to our first responders for preventing any loss of life this morning in Waynesboro.

Westwood Hills Elementary School was evacuated Wednesday morning as personnel respond to an “emergency” situation at the school that some reports are calling a shooting.

Today, we recognize National Women's Equality Day. Marking the adoption of the 19th Amendment into our U.S. Constitution, guaranteeing women the right to vote.

Thank you NOVA Parks for hosting a Women's Equality Day celebration in remembrance of the millions of women who fought for women's suffrage across our nation and within our Commonwealth.

The event highlighted the Turning Point Suffragist Memorial, a national monument in Occoquan Regional Park.

We’ve seen this before: Trump nominees do anything to get confirmed, then switch back to doing whatever Trump tells them to.

The Senate should still vote No on Trump’s criminal defense lawyer as our next Attorney General.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has issued a formal order terminating President Donald Trump’s $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization fund” to compensate his political allies.

Runaway transmission costs are driving bills up, while renewable energy projects wait months and years for permission to plug into the grid.

I joined National Caucus of Environmental Legislators in calling for state governments to take a bigger role in building the electrical grid of the future.

: State legislators from 10 states are calling on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to ensure states can meaningfully engage in decision-making at PJM Interconnection — the nation's largest regional grid operator, spanning 13 states and D.C.

PJM's decisions impact household electricity bills and states' ability to meet their energy goals. In a new comment letter to FERC, the legislators outline several key reforms and practical modifications for creating more opportunities for state participation in PJM governance.

"We cannot build a modernized, affordable grid without giving our states a meaningful voice in how PJM is run. Transparency and accountability are essential," said Maryland State Delegate Lorig Charkoudian.

The letter was spearheaded by Lorig Charkoudian for Delegate, and lawmakers say they're committed to continuing to work with both PJM and FERC to lower costs and strengthen long-term reliability.
