Kiki, the beloved feline ambassador behind the grassroots outreach initiative Kiki’s Kitty Kloset in Falls Church, VA, has officially advanced to the Final Round of 2026 Pet Lover’s Choice competition.

Final-round voting begins on June 6, 2026 and continues through June 11, 2026.

Supporters say this campaign is about much more than a cute pet contest. Kiki represents a growing community-based effort focused on helping cats and the people who care for them throughout the Falls Church area and beyond.

If successful, prize funds would go directly to Kiki’s Kitty Kloset to help provide:
- Spay/neuter assistance
- Cat food and supply support
- Community outreach services
- Educational resources for caregivers
- Help for local families who own cats at risk of surrender or abandonment

After the San Diego mosque shooting, threats & hate toward mosques must be taken seriously. Calls for a “pig roast and BBQ” at a mosque aren’t harmless, they’re Islamophobic & dangerous. As a senator I have visited houses of worship of every faith. People should be free to worship without fear.

I know these Republican prosecutors see this as an opportunity for tough guy posturing and amateur constitutional lawyering, but ending the sale of assault weapons in Virginia isn't something an individual prosecutor can do anything about.

Local prosecutors don't enforce, they prosecute - and my message to anyone thinking about breaking Virginia law is, don't bet on Virginia law enforcement ignoring it.

At least five prosecutors have said they will not follow the ban on selling, purchasing or transfering assault weapons that will start in Virginia next month.
