• There is NO SCHOOL TOMORROW, Friday, May 22nd for students & staff as a part of our modified 4-day week calendar. This is also the LAST Friday off for the school year. Students WILL attend school on Friday, May 29, and on the last day of school, June 5.

• There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day!

We hope everyone enjoys a fun, safe, and relaxing long weekend. We will welcome students back on Tuesday, May 26, as we head into the final 2 weeks of the school year! 💚

⚠️ PLEASE READ ⚠️

Due to a staffing shortage today, the TEAL Route #39 will not be running as scheduled this afternoon. All affected students will be provided alternate transportation on either the BLACK or BROWN routes. All schools have been notified and provided a list of which students will need to ride which buses. Please expect delays to all stops as a result.

Last night, the Churchill County School District Board of Trustees and Superintendent Derild Parsons had the honor of attending the Churchill County High School Scholarship and Academic Awards Ceremony, a special evening celebrating the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our students! 🎓💚

We are incredibly proud to share that over $3 million in scholarships were offered to deserving students this year (not including Nevada Promise or Millennium Scholarship funds). In addition, 39 seniors and 44 juniors earned their Academic Letter by maintaining a 3.5 GPA for four consecutive semesters, an outstanding academic accomplishment!

School Board Trustees proudly presented scholarships on behalf of the district.

Trustee Wendy Bullock presented the Churchill County Board of School Trustees Scholarship to Anthony Camara, Laycie Conley, Davion Hooper, and Lelah Noel.

Trustee Gregg Malkovich presented the Maurice K. Meister Scholarship to Isabel Linares and the Ken and Rosemary Geis Scholarship to Derek Lattin, Samantha Maffi, and Madison Palmer.

Trustee Joe McFadden presented the George C. Coverston Scholarship to Manuel Barros and Bailey Prinz.

Trustee Amber Getto presented the Henry J. Koeckes Scholarship to Dylan Faught and Alondra Garcia Carrillo.

Trustee Celestia Blakey presented the Rollan Melton Scholarship to Kylee Simper and Riggin Stonebarger, along with the James Bogan Memorial Scholarship to Samantha Maffi.

Trustee Kathryn Whitaker and Trustee Julie Guerrero-Goetsch presented the Jean Selmi Memorial Scholarship to Laycie Conley, Brooklyn Johnson, Isabel Nestlerode, Madison Palmer, and Bransyn Wright.

We want to commend all of the students recognized last night. Your academic excellence, dedication, and perseverance are truly inspiring, and we hope these scholarships and honors serve as a strong foundation for your future success.

At approximately 9:38 am, CCHS administrators, in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies, began conducting a planned, random canine sniff search on the CCHS campus. School administrators, law enforcement officials, and trained police canines are inspecting randomly selected classrooms and other areas of the school to help ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.

This week, the Churchill County School District Board of Trustees and the Superintendent’s Office are proud to recognize our staff during Staff Appreciation Week! 🎉

Every day, in ways both big and small, our staff show up for students and for one another. From classrooms to bus routes to the many roles behind the scenes, their work keeps our schools running and supports the success and well-being of every student we serve.

As a small token of appreciation, staff members across the district are receiving ChurchillCSD reusable tote bags. It is a simple way to recognize all they carry each day and the dedication they bring to our schools and community.

We are grateful for each and every member of our team and the lasting impact they make.
