Use ceiling fans (counterclockwise in the summer) and tabletop fans to stay cool and turn them off when you leave the room. Ceiling fans cool people, not rooms.

🌟 Join Us as We Honor Our September Senior of the Month! 🌟

We’re excited to invite you to our Senior of the Month Celebration on Wednesday, September 9 at 12:30 PM!

Join us in the East Building (399 Heald Ln) as we proudly honor Carol Wood, a former Bonsall Unified School District teacher and the founder of Love on Your Back, a nonprofit weekend backpack nutrition program that helps provide food to local children in need. 💛

Please come celebrate Carol and the lasting impact she has made through her dedication to education, children, and our community. We’re grateful for the individuals who give so much of themselves to make Fallbrook a better place for everyone.

🥫 FOOD DRIVE: As part of Carol’s celebration, we’ll also be collecting donations to support the Love on Your Back program. Requested items include:
🥜 Peanut butter
🧀 Mac & cheese
🥫 Canned chicken

Your donation will help provide nutritious food for local children to take home over the weekend.

We hope you’ll join us for this special celebration and help us recognize Carol Wood for all she has done and continues to do for our community! 🎉

Everyone is welcome!

🌺 AUGUST WAS A BUSY MONTH AT THE CENTER FOR SENIOR WELLBEING! 🌺

We packed August with opportunities to learn, connect, celebrate, and have a little fun along the way! 💙

On August 19, we had a double dose of fun! We enjoyed Bingo with Jessee from Royal Benefits Insurance, as well as our Senior of the Month celebration honoring Carmen Willard of the Fallbrook Blanket Project. Carmen’s dedication to helping others in our community is truly inspiring. ❤️

A special thank-you to Affordable & Quality Care Home Care for sponsoring Carmen’s Senior of the Month celebration and helping us make the day extra special!

Then, during our busy final week of August, we welcomed Ken Munson for an informative presentation on the Watch Duty app, joined by the North County Fire Protection District and our very own Tech Volunteer Team. Seniors learned more about this valuable resource for staying informed about wildfires and emergencies in our area. 🔥📱

We also welcomed Dr. Bridgeman from Rancho Family Medical Group in Fallbrook for a Doc Talk on caring for your skin as you age. Thank you for sharing helpful information and answering our seniors’ questions! ☀️

And we ended the month on a high note with our End-of-Summer Luau! 🌴🌺 It was the perfect way to celebrate the season with good food, fun music, great company, and lots of fun.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us, volunteered, presented, sponsored, and helped make August such a wonderful month at the Center for Senior Wellbeing. We’re looking forward to all that September has in store! 💙
