Justice Resource Institute Foster Care and Adoption

Justice Resource Institute Foster Care and Adoption Justice Resource Institute Foster Care and Adoption provides trauma-informed foster care to children and youth in the state of Massachusetts.

Our program values partnership, teamwork, and education to promote healing and growth in every young person. Justice Resource Institute (JRI) Foster Care is an Intensive Foster Care program serving children and families in Massachusetts. We work in conjunction with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to provide trauma-informed foster care for children ages birth through 21 years old. Our

foster parents receive ongoing training to equip them to meet the specific needs of the children they serve with empathy, compassion, and skill. Our program staff visit each child weekly to form a bond and help each child heal, grow, and thrive. Our program believes in finding unique ways to support our families and believes that a well-supported foster family is a successful foster family. If you are searching for a foster care agency to wrap around your household and partner with you as you support children and youth in need, we hope you will contact us. Reunification plans look different for every family. It's important to keep an open mind as a foster parent. Also, to share your concerns appropriately with the child/youth's social worker if they arise. Remember different does not mean bad ๐Ÿ’™

Happy Wonderful Wednesday, Foster Friends! We are here to celebrate successes in foster care.

This week, help us cheer for:

๐Ÿ’™A kiddo who found a really meaningful support group and is going to get involved in local theater as a space for expression and connection. Very brave actions!
๐Ÿ’™One of our former gals who attended her prom and looked radiant!
๐Ÿ’™One of our foster mums who just hopped on social media recently. She was contacted by a former placement, a child who shared her home almost two decades ago. The young adult was lamenting that they do not have early childhood pictures...until Mama S opened up a drawer and started scanning pictures in! Pictures mean so much and we are so grateful that she kept those on hand. We hope it felt supportive, kind, and fun for the former foster child!

Okay, you know what to do- shake those pompoms and cheer on success in foster care๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŽ‰

We hope every child has a grown up to support them in their big feelings and help them find the way through๐Ÿ’™

The Heart of a Foster Parent๐Ÿ’™

What is the heart of a foster parent? They go about their days, calculating a thousand little moments and inferences that even people close to them never realize. They adjust their tones as they scan for body language, consider how to phrase a question so it isnโ€™t too invasive, think about what is...

Your words matter! Kids in care need to hear words of encouragement and affirmation directly, clearly, and simply.

While foster care is NEVER a child's fault (ever!), some may blame themselves. Removals can be confusing and chaotic, they may see their parent upset and calling their name. A child may not have the full context of the situation and may even blame themselves. I've seen kids struggle with self-confidence and self-worth.

Never underestimate the power of your words. Your spoken words turn into their inner voice.

I'd love to hear your words of encouragement, affirmation, and love below. ๐Ÿ’›โฌ‡๏ธ
