We are incredibly grateful to the Massachusetts Bar Foundation to be among this year’s IOLTA grant recipients as part of this historic $7.6 million investment in legal aid across the Commonwealth.
This support strengthens our ability to serve individuals and families facing urgent civil legal challenges, ensuring greater access to justice for those who need it most.
Thank you, MBF, for your leadership and commitment to building more equitable and resilient communities.

We are deeply grateful to the Cape Cod community for your incredible support of St. Joseph Shelter.
To our dedicated volunteers, the Cape parishioners, those who took the time to write letters of support, and everyone who gave so generously—thank you. You have truly shown what faith in action looks like.
Because of you, our shelter guests are not only cared for—they are treated with dignity, respect, and love. You lift us up and remind us of the power of community.
We couldn’t do this without you. 💙

We’re grateful to the One SouthCoast for hosting the 2026 Legislative Luncheon. It was an informative and engaging event, and a wonderful opportunity to catch up with our State Representatives and our friends in the business community. Thank you for bringing everyone together for such an important conversation!

Faces of St. Joseph’s House

“I need a community to be a community and look out for each other. Because in the end, we’re all we’ve got.”

When Sheila heard the rhetoric surrounding the relocation of St. Joseph’s House and the people who stay there, she says, “It broke my heart.”

Thank you, Sheila, for sharing your story and reminding us that homelessness is something that can affect anyone, and that compassion must always come first.

Moving Day at St. Joseph's House

As one shelter guest prepares to move into transitional housing, she shared, "If it weren't for the shelter, I'd be on the street, which would be devastating. St. Joseph's has been a blessing."

She looks forward to her new home, but hasn't lost site of her ultimate goal: an apartment of her own.

Every move-out is a step forward, but the need for a safe, modern shelter remains urgent.

A call to compassion for our Cape Cod community 🙏

We’re grateful to the clergy members of the Diocese of Fall River who raised their voices in support of our solutions-based plan for St. Joseph's House. As they remind us, “This is a community-wide challenge and it requires a community-wide response.”

The new shelter building will provide safer, more accessible space - eliminating stairs for older adults, and creating room for medical care, case management, and day programs that help people move toward stability.

Did you know? In 2025, over 84% of our shelter guests were Cape Cod residents. And more than 40% were working — driving for rideshare, holding hourly jobs, doing the kind of work that no longer covers Cape rent. These are our neighbors. They lived here before they lost housing. They will live here after they regain it. The shelter is not bringing people in — it is keeping people in.

When a senior on a fixed income or a working parent loses their footing, the community that holds them is doing the work of the Church. That is who St. Joseph’s House is for. That is who we will keep showing up for.
