🌅 The sun is setting on our building project, but we still have one important step left.

We are just over $600,000 away from reaching our fundraising goal—and we need your help to cross the finish line!

Reaching our goal means we can open this brand-new, beautiful community building completely debt-free, without increasing taxes. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we are already at 92% of our fundraising goal! 🎉

Some moving updates...

Reminder that we are officially closed at both our old and new locations as we work through this transition!

Our book shelving was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but unfortunately, this is now the third time it hasn’t shown up. 😅 We’re hopeful it will finally arrive tomorrow! Once the shelving is here, I’ll set up SignUpGenius opportunities for anyone who would like to volunteer. I just don’t want to ask everyone to sign up only to have to reschedule again!

In the meantime, please continue to use the exterior book drop at our old location. We’re doing our best to check it at least once a day.

Today, our small library team got a chance to spend some time in the new library, and we were just blown away imagining all the ways our community is going to use this space. ❤️

A few of our favorite things so far:

🌿 The windows EVERYWHERE — being able to look out and see green all around us (and eventually falling snow!) is going to be amazing.

🔥 The reading room — just imagine grabbing a coffee and meeting a friend in here by the fireplace. You’re not going to want to leave.

🎮 The teen area — a gaming area, fun furniture, and a place to hang out after school. We can already picture it being a favorite spot.

And the list goes on and on!

We know this move has taken some patience, and we appreciate you sticking with us through all the delays and changes. We are SO excited to finally get into this space and, most importantly, to serve our community in our new library. ❤️📚

Shoutout to Chippewa Valley Growers!

They helped fuel us during our BIG MOVE by treating our crew to drinks from Tilly’s! Moving an entire library is no small task, and having our community show up for us in so many ways has meant the world. ❤️

A quick update on our move to the new library!

We are going to postpone our move that was planned for today. There is still quite a bit happening at the new library — including final cleaning, touch-up painting, and installation of our library shelving — so we’ve decided it’s best to wait until we can move everything in and put it right where it belongs without getting in the way of the contractors.

As anxious as we are to get into our beautiful new space, we want to do this the right way and make the move as smooth as possible.

I’ll be setting up a new SignUpGenius for moving and unpacking, and we are currently looking at Tuesday, September 8 as our main move day.

That said, if there is enough interest, we may be able to get a crew together on Saturday, September 5 or Monday, September 7 to move some items that we can safely move ahead of time.

If you would be available to help on 9/5, 9/7, or 9/8, please comment below! We’ll use the responses to help us plan our volunteer crews.

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing volunteer crew who spent time yesterday helping us pack up a whole lot of the library collection! 📚📦 We’re missing a few helpers from this picture, but this crew is just one small glimpse of the community support we’ve been so lucky to have throughout this big move.

I’m (Rachel, Library Director) Fall Creek born and raised, so part of me isn’t surprised that our community has shown up for us. But at the same time… it still blows me away. ❤️

This small town never fails to amaze me. We are so lucky to have people who are willing to give their time, lend a hand, and help make this next chapter of our library possible.

🚨 IT’S REALLY HAPPENING! 🚨

We’re open tomorrow and Friday, so come stock up! The more you check out now, the less we have to move!

Saturday, August 29: We’ll be open 9 AM–12 PM, but we’ll be getting started on packing. We’ll be open primarily for patrons to grab items from the hold shelf.

Monday, August 31: WE ARE CLOSED.
We’ll be closed all week as we focus on packing, moving, and getting our new library ready for you!

Tuesday, September 8: We plan to be open for hold pickups only, but we’ll provide an update around September 4 with more information.

Monday, September 14: Our goal is to officially open the doors of the NEW Fall Creek Public Library & Village Center! We’re keeping our fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly!
