You may have noticed a little bit of commotion outside the police department today! No, we weren’t just yelling at each other for eating the last donut 🍩! Officers today spent time training on high risk vehicle contacts and professional communication skills. No donuts involved but thanks to an officer birthday we did manage some amazing cake!🎂

Hello Fall Creek!!! We would like to introduce you to Tatum Krueger! Tatum will be interning with the Fall Creek Police Department during the summer. Tatum is a criminal justice student at Chippewa Valley Technical College and will be beginning her second year in the Fall. During her time with us she will be riding along with officers and getting a better understanding of policing procedures and community relations. Tatum hopes one day to become a police officer and to work as a School Resource Officer. If you see Tatum around town please help us make her feel welcome.

Today, we pause as a nation in remembrance of those that paid the ultimate sacrifice in protection of our freedom. Words can never express our gratitude, and at the same time our sorrow for the lives that were lost in service to this country. Our thoughts and prayers today go out to the families of those fallen heroes that never came home. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten!

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day — a day set aside to honor the law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Today we pause to remember the brave men and women, along with the families, friends, departments, and communities forever impacted by their loss.

These officers served with honor, integrity, and commitment to their communities. Their loss reaches far beyond the law enforcement profession and leaves a lasting impact on everyone who knew and loved them.

We will always remember their sacrifice, and ensure they are never forgotten.

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

We honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the men and women who serve and protect our communities every day. We also remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

You will never be forgotten.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Stensen on graduating today from the Wisconsin Department of Justice Leadership in Police Organizations program. This program is an extensive 3 week long course that prepares officers for leadership roles within law enforcement agencies. Officers learn about several necessary aspects of leading law enforcement officers such as leadership skills, ethical decision making, accountability, and organizational dynamics.

We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication that Officer Stensen has demonstrated in the course and look forward to seeing how she uses these skills throughout her career.

Just as a reminder, courts in Wisconsin will never text you a copy of a court order or text you to demand payment. One of our officers received this “notice” by text. And, though it looks official, it is a scam. Please do not make any payments if you receive a similar message. Instead contact the court or law enforcement to determine the validity of the information.

This week ECEC Youth Ambassadors came to visit us at the police department to understand a little more about the role of law enforcement officers. In particular we discussed and demonstrated some of the less lethal options that are used to gain control of subjects. The students were able to see a K9 demonstration, Taser exposure, and bean bag round deployment.

A huge THANK YOU to the Augusta Police Department for being a part of this, and to Eau Claire Energy Cooperative for giving us the ability to share a little bit about how we serve and protect our community.
