Searching for a new accessory to add to your summer wardrobe? Look no further - the Gibbs Farm gift shop has got you (and your head) covered! Check out our array of handmade, historically inspired bonnets! The gift shop is open during our public hours on Saturdays from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Note: Bonnets are all kid sized, but adults with smallish noggins could totally pull these off!

The Spring Homeschool Day at Gibbs Farm is this Friday! Meet the animals, see the historic farmhouse, and learn about how the Dakota people of Cloud Man's village lived during the 1830s! This special day of programing is all about moving through the site at your own pace and having the flexibility to spend time in the places you and your family are most interested in!

Perfect for a Saturday in springtime! Check out these musings on flowers from eleven year-old Lillie Belle Gibbs.

"Flowers. There are many kinds of flowers and some are very bright and beautiful. There is the little blue violet, and the white daisy and the large red peony, and very many others. I think it is a very pretty sight to see a hill at a distance covered with many different kinds of flowers. But I do wish that flowers would stay a little longer: they go away so very quick. The first flowers that bloom in the spring are the little daisies; the next are the violets ,and so on till at last there are only some tall yellow flowers left. They are not very pretty and soon perish. Dec. 22, 1876."

Spring Homeschool Day – Friday, June 12th – Registration Open Now!

A day of programs just for homeschool students and their educators! Visit the Gibbs Farm historic site and learn about the seasonal life of the Dakota of Cloud Man’s village and the early Minnesota farm life of Jane & Heman Gibbs. On going activities include visiting the historic farmhouse, replica bark lodge, and a tipi. One-room schoolhouse lessons will take place several times throughout the day.

The gift shop will also be open specially for this day!

Please note that parents must accompany their children at all times while on the historic site. Picnic tables will be available for picnic lunches (please note that there is no food for sale on site).

$8 per student 3 and older

$5 per adult

Children 2 and under are free of charge

Pre-register or pay on the day of the event. Last Entry is at 2pm.

Refunds are available up to one week prior to the event. In the event of inclement weather and the cancellation of the event, refunds will be automatically issued to those who have pre-registered.
