We wanted to share a post from MISIN (Michigan Invasive Species Information Network) to watch for the invasive Asian Long horned Beetle (not to be confused with the native and similar looking Pine Sawyer Beetle). Follow the link provided to learn how to spot and report these beetles.

These are not known to be in Michigan; however, it is always a good idea to keep an eye out. August is the main time to spot them as they emerge, and they can spread via transporting firewood. Help keep our trees healthy by watching for and report sightings of the Asian Long horned Beetle.

August 13th the Conservation District is holding their annual meeting and Ice cream social at the Veterans Memorial Park in Mio fron 6pm to 8pm. Bring the family out to meet the district staff and board and enjoy some ice cream!

We are looking for Volunteers for the week leading up to our Tree Sale.

We will be starting to package trees on May 4th thru May 7th from 9:00am until 2:30-3:00pm.

If you would like to volunteer, all you have to do is show up to the Oscoda County Fairgrounds, 1889 Caldwell Rd.
