We were proud to partner with Fairview Park Recreation Department for the Pop-Up Party in the Park and help kick off summer with the community!

It was great seeing so many kids and families out enjoying the day. We were able to provide free bike helmets, helmet fittings, and basic bike tune-ups to help keep kids safe while riding this summer.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and to the Recreation Department for hosting such a great event!

As the weather gets warmer, we are seeing more electric bicycles, scooters, and other micromobility devices being used throughout the community.

Please remember:
• Riders must obey traffic laws and signals
• Motorized devices must be operated safely around pedestrians
• E-bike motors cannot be engaged while operating on sidewalks
• Class 3 e-bike riders must be at least 16 years old and wear a helmet
• Not every electric-powered bike qualifies as a legal e-bike under Ohio law

Parents are encouraged to review the type of device their child is riding and make sure it is being operated safely and legally.

Our goal is education and safety as these devices continue to become more common in the community.

Ride safe and stay visible.

National Police Week is held annually in May, centered around May 15th, which is designated as Peace Officers Memorial Day. The week honors law enforcement officers, specifically those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. In 2026, National Police Week is observed from Monday, May 11, to Saturday, May 16.

Light Ohio Blue is a statewide campaign to honor law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. Every May, Ohio businesses light their skylines blue and citizens change their exterior lights to blue in remembrance. What started as a single act of solidarity has become a movement that unites the entire state.

The FBI Cleveland Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBICLECAAA) coordinates access to blue light bulbs, with the help of Home Depot, they have donated blue lightbulbs to the Fairview Park Police to make them available to the residents of Fairview Park and encourages the bulbs be placed in an outside pole lamp or on the front of your home as an indication of your support for surviving families of Fallen Officers and actively employed Law Enforcement Officers. They will be available for pick up in the Police Station lobby on May 6, 2026 while supplies last.
