As we get into the Memorial Day weekend, the big question is always, "Will it rain on me?" While there are rain chances spread through parts of the weekend, there will be plenty of dry time between showers and thunderstorms. The best potential for rainfall lands in the late Saturday to early Sunday timeframe. Fortunately, most of the daylight periods have plenty of dry time. However, always remember, "If thunder roars, go indoors!"

Research has revealed that 53% of children charge their phone or tablet either on their bed or under their pillow. This is can be extremely dangerous.

The heat generated cannot dissipate and the charger will become hotter and hotter.

The likely result is that the pillow/bed will catch fire –placing the child (as well as everyone else in the property) in great danger.

Even in a galaxy not so far away, the mission stays the same—protecting life, property, and our community.

Today, as we celebrate May the 4th, we’re reminded that every call we answer can feel like stepping into a battle zone. Thick smoke, intense heat, and unpredictable conditions—our crews train hard to face it all head-on.

These scenes might look like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, but it’s a real reminder of the challenges firefighters take on every day. Whether it’s here on Earth or in a galaxy far, far away… courage, teamwork, and dedication make all the difference.

Stay safe, look out for one another, and remember—heroes don’t need capes… sometimes they just need turnout gear.
