Egypt Fire Department A volunteer fire department that is made up of ~ 50+ members providing fire protection, rescue, & EMS 1st response services to ~ 20 sq. miles of Perinton

The Egypt Fire Association is made up of approximately 40 volunteer members who reside and/or work in our area of responsibility. We provide both Fire Protection, Rescue and EMS 1st Response services within our response area. This response area covers approximately 20 square miles of the Southeast corner of the Town of Perinton with a population of approximately 10,000 residents. We respond to an

average of 325 alarms per year. We are governed by a group of 12 Trustees who are voted from the current active membership of the department. The day to day activities are divided between the firematic (Line) side of the department and the business (Civil) side of the association. The Line Officers include the Chief, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, 2 Captains and 4 Lieutenants. The Civil Officers include the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Financial Secretary. All of these positions are filled by active members of the association.

At 6:38 this morning, Egypt firefighters were dispatched for smoke conditions inside a residence. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the home and a working fire was declared. Firefighters quickly located and knocked down the fire in a second-floor bedroom, preventing further damage to the home. All residents were able to safely evacuate and there were no injuries reported. Thanks to Bushnell's Basin Fire Department, Fairport Fire Department, Perinton Ambulance, and Monroe County Sheriff's Office - Rochester, NY for assistance at the scene, East Rochester Fire Department and Penfield, NY Fire Company for filling in, and Emergency Communications Department - 911 in Rochester, NY for coordinating resources. Cause of the fire is under investigation.

At 7:05 this morning, Egypt firefighters were dispatched for smoke coming from inside a building at Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester. Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire inside a maintenance barn and quickly knocked it down. No animals were inside the barn and there were no injuries to people or animals. Thanks to Fairport Fire Department, Bushnell's Basin Fire Department, East Rochester Fire Department, Perinton Ambulance, and Monroe County Sheriff's Office - Rochester, NY for assistance at the scene, and Emergency Communications Department - 911 in Rochester, NY for coordinating resources. Cause of the fire is under investigation.

At 10:52 pm last night, Egypt firefighters were dispatched for a condo on fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found the basement on fire and quickly knocked it down before it extended. Thanks to Bushnell's Basin Fire Department, Fairport Fire Department, Perinton Ambulance, and Monroe County Sheriff's Office - Rochester, NY for assistance at the scene, East Rochester Fire Department for filling in and providing coverage for another incident in Egypt during this time, and the Emergency Communications Department - 911 in Rochester, NY for coordinating resources. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
