FFD was proud to support Fairport Central School District today at Minerva Deland as the last class of students will ever attend there. A unique school to Fairport, this 9th grade only building will now be repurposed and incoming 9th graders will be incorporated into Fairport High School beginning next year.

FFD stayed busy yesterday responding to 5 incidents.

The first notable incident was responding to a MVA on Monroe Wayne CL Rd with Macedon Center Volunteer Fire Department. Crews assisted at the scene and at the request of Macedon Town Ambulance established a landing zone for Mercy Flight Central on Kittering Rd.

At the end of the night, FFD responded into Egypt Fire Department for a working basement fire. FFD crews and Bushnell's Basin Fire Department assisted at the scene and confined the fire to the basement of the town home.

FFD responded this afternoon to a Pull Box activation in front of our Station 1. We then began receiving multiple calls for a fire behind the fire station. Crews found a multi car garage and multiple vehicles on fire. This caused exposure problems to 2 houses and our fire station. Crews were able to get water on the fire quickly, but our Station 1 did receive some damage along with the other residences.

Later this evening crews responded to Great Wood Ct. for another structure fire with reported people trapped. An AC unit was on fire against the building. Crews were able to extinguish fire before it could spread inside the apartment.

FFD responded this afternoon for an MVA with a person trapped on Macedon Center Rd between Copper Beach and Monroe Wayne CL. Crews arrived and confirmed 1 person trapped who was deceased.

FFD remained onscene with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office - Rochester, NY assisting with scene support and extricating the driver for an additional 3 and a half hours. Perinton Ambulance assisted onscene as well.

Age 18+ join as a full active member. All equipment and training provided.

Age 16-17 join as a Restricted Active Member (RAM) to receive training and learn more about the fire department.

FFD responded last evening for a house fire on Whitney Rd East. Crews arrived to find a house down a 800’ private driveway with fire from all sides. Units were working for over 6 hours before clearing the scene. Unfortunately one person was found deceased and the house was a total loss.
