🎶 A New Chapter Begins at Center Park West! 🎶

Starting tomorrow (9/15), we'll begin removing the original Center Park West playground to make way for the next phase of our new music-themed playground project! 🎉
While it's never easy to say goodbye to a playground that has served families for more than two decades, we're excited for what's next.

The next movement in this project includes:
🎵 New swings, including accessible swing options
☀️ Additional shade structures
🪑 New benches and seating areas
🥬 Turf surface
♿ More inclusive amenities for all visitors

Construction will be ongoing through mid-fall, and portions of the playground area will be closed during this time as crews work to complete these exciting improvements. The stage is set, and we're putting the finishing touches on a space designed for children of all abilities to play, explore, and create lasting memories together. 🎸🎹

Thank you for your patience as we continue building an even better playground for our community. Stay tuned for progress updates!

This work will strengthen long-term record preservation, increase accessibility, and support efficient operations across Town government for years to come.

Thank you to Assemblymember Jen Lunsford for her advocacy and partnership in securing this funding, and to Town Clerk Andrew Gilchrist and his team for their ongoing commitment to modernizing Town services. Their efforts help ensure greater transparency, improved efficiency, and continued accountability while delivering the high-quality service our residents expect and deserve.

Today marks 25 years since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks - a day that forever changed our nation.

We pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, honor the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of first responders, and recognize the survivors, families, and communities whose lives were forever changed.

Twenty-five years later, we also remember the spirit of unity that emerged in the face of unimaginable tragedy. Neighbors helping neighbors, strangers helping strangers, and a nation standing together.

As our flags fly at half-staff today, the Town of Perinton joins communities across our country in honoring all those we lost and all those who answered the call to serve.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸
