This is article does a great job highlighting the current delays in the release of grant contracts and funding that are affecting Family Resource Networks (FRNs) and Family Support Centers (FSCs) across West Virginia, and agencies who are connected by both grants such as ours that serve West Virginia families

These funding delays create significant uncertainty for organizations that provide essential services and support to children, families, and communities every day.

The article sheds light on the challenges agencies are facing as they await the release of contracts and funding needed to sustain programs and services.

It also emphasizes the importance of timely funding to ensure that organizations can continue meeting the needs of the families who rely on them.
This issue impacts not only service providers but also the communities they serve specifically to us here in Marion County, making it an important concern for families all across West Virginia.

We thank those Delegates and Commitee Members who are asking questions and standing with our families !

West Virginia’s Family Support Centers face uncertain budgets and possible job and services cuts next month.

📣 Marion County Families and Partners

We are the Marion County Family Resource and Support Network ONE agency made up of our Family Resource Network (FRN) and Family Support Center (FSC), working together every day to support children and families in our community.

Since 1995, our FRN has served as a trusted community connector in Marion County. In 2023 we were awarded the Family Support Grant, which flows directly through our FRN and has allowed us to expand and strengthen services through one coordinated system of support.

Together, we provide FREE services including:
• Parenting & family support groups
• Children’s activities & family events
• Prevention programming
• Resource navigation & referrals
• Community partnerships & collaboration
• Family Essentials, Baby and Food Pantries

The Legislature funded these programs for the coming year and the Governor signed the budget three (3) months ago. However, as the new fiscal year approaches, contracts for both our FRN and FSC grants have yet to be released.

Without those contracts in place by July 1, agencies like ours are being asked to prepare without clear funding timelines—impacting the services families rely on every day.

💬 We need your voice.

If your family has benefited from any of our programs or services, we encourage you to contact the Governor’s Office, your local delegates, and state senators and share your story.

📝 One short paragraph is enough.
Tell them how these services have impacted your family, your children, or our community. Personal stories help decision-makers understand the real impact these programs have on Marion County families.

Thank you for standing with Marion County families and supporting the work we do every day!

One size does NOT fit all when it comes to car seats!

Every child is unique, and so is every car seat. Always refer to your car seat's instruction manual to ensure the best fit for your child's weight, height and age. Thank You for Joining Us!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to participate in our Annual Pool Party and Community Resource Fair on Friday!
We hope you had a wonderful time swimming, making meaningful connections, learned something new, and discovered valuable resources for you and your family.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our community partners who take time out of their busy schedules each year to join us, share information, provide education, and connect with families. Your commitment helps make this event such a success.

And a special thank you goes to our incredible team for all of the hard work that goes into planning, setting up, and hosting this event.

We don’t host free events simply for the sake of having events. As an agency, our mission is centered on providing resources, education, family support, prevention services, and connections that strengthen our community.

Events like these create opportunities for families to learn, engage with services, build relationships, and access support when it’s needed.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and look forward to seeing everyone again !☀️🏊‍♀️💙

West Virginia Department of Human Services today announced applications for the Emergency Low Income Energy Assistance Program (ELIEAP) will be accepted from June 8 through June 26, 2026, or until funds are exhausted.

The federally funded program assists eligible state residents in paying home heating or cooling bills. Residents whose primary heating and cooling source is gas or electricity must provide a termination notice or a past due utility bill when applying for ELIEAP. Households using other primary heating sources or bulk fuel may qualify for assistance if their heating fuel levels are critically low during the application period.

Households that received a direct payment through the regular Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) must verify that the benefit was used for home heating expenses. Applicants must submit a current receipt equal to the amount of LIEAP assistance received along with their ELIEAP application. Failure to provide verification of payment will result in denial of the application.

Eligibility for ELIEAP is based on household income, household size, and responsibility for paying home heating or cooling costs. To qualify, households must meet all program requirements and be experiencing an energy emergency that could disrupt their primary heating or cooling source if assistance is not provided.

The income limit for Fiscal Year 2026 is 60 percent of the State Median Income. The maximum allowable gross income levels for ELIEAP Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 are listed below:

*For each additional household member, add $688. Households whose countable income exceeds the maximum allowable amount are not eligible for assistance. Certain types of income may be excluded when determining ELIEAP eligibility.

Residents must apply in person at their local DoHS office. A directory of local offices is available at dohs.wv.gov/field-offices. Applications will be processed while funding remains available.
