Meet Otis (Neutered male, 10 years old, UTD) and Nellie (Spayed female, 12 years old, UTD)

They are 2 bonded Siamese seniors whose owner has passed away and are looking to find a safe place to call home to live out the remainder of their golden years.

The cats are NOT at the shelter or under our care we are just helping a resident with getting the word out and ensuring they get the best home possible.

If you are interested in adopting these bonded cats all are welcome to fill out an application in person at the animal shelter with background check approval and we will facilitate with the current care taker to set up a meet and greet.

If you are interested in these cats or would like further information
Please call Fairhaven Animal Shelter at (508) 979-4028

Happening THIS WEEKEND😎

As a friendly reminder this is an animal supply specific yard sale we are not accepting any other donations for the yard sale at this time, we have our inventory accounted for in advance.

Please refrain from dropping off larger unrelated animal supply items at the shelter as we do not have any means to dispose of them properly.

The shelter itself will be CLOSED from our normal business hours 9am-3pm so we can staff the yard sale appropriately and prevent stress to the animals with large foot traffic. If you are interested in viewing any specific animal please ask staff at the yard sale and they can assist you further.

Hope to see you all this weekend🐾🎉

Effective as of Monday 9/7/26 our animal control officer Kelsey Figueiredo will officially be starting her maternity leave.

In her absence will be Officer Courtney Ford who comes to us with previous experience under the wing of the wonderful animal control officer Kelly from Wareham.

We ask that during Officer Figueiredo's leave that Officer Ford be welcomed with open arms and treated with respect as she is stepping into a big role. The animal control officer is responsible for many things but mainly to oversee the animal shelter, all of the volunteers, be the animal inspector, and also answer every service call (road kill, dog bites, bats, loose dogs, etc) and answer all phone calls as we do not have a receptionist.

Attached is our contact information for anybody who may need it

Shelter office number: 508-979-4028
(Typically used 9am-3pm shelter hours)

Animal control general email: [email protected]
(Checked daily and some weekends) not for emergency use situations

Fairhaven police dispatch: 508-997-7421
(True animal emergencies only)

Thank you for your time and patience while we transition during this time and as always, be kind🐾❤️

We would like to take the time to make an announcement and give some sense of direction to the people who may not know-

Just like any other shelter, surrenders are at an all time high right now and have been for months. We have had an abundance recently especially of cat surrender attempts and by attempts we mean people literally just walking into the shelter with their cats in carriers ready to drop them off without any notice.

If you are in a situation where you need to surrender ANY animal please start by calling your towns animal control officer so they can confirm they have space to begin with and also if they do not have space they can guide you on how to do an appropriate surrender within the towns guidelines, which sometimes surrender may not be the only option available after we obtain some information on the situation. The best possible outcome would always be to keep your animal and if we can help you do that we would always strive for that before surrender.

Surrendering should always be a last resort but recently we have been getting alot of people trying the dump and run method for various reasons that are not the animals fault and without trying any other options first and it is not fair to the animals or the already over full shelters who are trying to save the sick and injured ones first and foremost.

This post is NOT to deter people from surrendering, we understand certain situations are inevitable and out of your control but please never show up to a shelter or any rescue facility at your leisure when the animal is not longer convenient for you and try to dump them.

As always, we are here to help you and educate you as best we can with the recourses we have, thank you for taking the time to read this post and hopefully it helps somebody out there who might need it!!

Still available and it's breaking our hearts💔
Not a single application for her in 8 months😓

This sweet and sassy girl has been with us for far too long, she is ready to break free and find the home she so very much deserves!!!

We have had not a single application on Daisy, could you be her family?

Meet Daisy!
She was originally dumped on Christmas day here in town but despite that she is still full of love and does not let that effect her in any way. She does not seem to favor other dogs and has the drive to chase and prey on cats so no other animals for this girl. She would love all the attention on her anyways and we think is deserving of that given her story.
She loves to play ball and really just wants to be with somebody in a home.

Come meet her!!
