National Police Week is a time to honor and remember the law enforcement officers across our nation who serve their communities with courage, sacrifice, and dedication every single day. It is also a time to recognize those who have lost their lives in the line of duty and the families who stand beside them.

Thank you to all law enforcement officers for the long hours, difficult decisions, and unwavering commitment to protecting and serving others. Your dedication, strength, and compassion do not go unnoticed. đź’™

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office proudly recognizes National Correctional Officers Week, observed May 3rd through May 9th, 2026.

Thank you for the work you do day in and day out to keep our facilities secure and safe.

National Correctional Officers Week is May 3rd through May 9th, 2026. Former President Ronald Reagan established this week on May 5, 1984. He saw the need to create a week for correctional officers to thank them for their services and celebrate their contributions to society. During this week, we want to recognize and thank our Jefferson County Correctional Staff and all other correctional staff for their dedicated work.

Great work by all Law Enforcement personnel involved.

Let’s pick this scam message apart:
1. Law enforcement and courts don’t communicate information via text

3. Iowa does not have any toll roads or toll bridges
4. Iowa Code Section 321.262 is about leaving the scene of accidents not toll roads
5. Iowa Code section 901A.5 doesn’t exist
