On April 23, 2026 at approximately 10:42 p.m., officers with the Fairfield Police Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop near the intersection of South 3rd Street and Washington Avenue Fairfield, Iowa. The vehicle failed to stop for the officer and a vehicle pursuit ensued.
The driver fled south bound on 6th Street, west onto Harrison Avenue, south on 7th Street, east on Libertyville Road, and then south on Highway 1 exiting the city limits. The chase continued into Van Buren and Wapello County. The driver exited the roadway and put the vehicle in a small embankment before fleeing on foot just north of Agency, Iowa. A short foot pursuit occurred and the driver was taken into custody.

- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) – 2nd Offense (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
- Driving While Barred (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
- Interference with Official Acts (Simple Misdemeanor)
ARRESTED: Christina Marie Wagner
AGE: 34
ADDRESS: Ottumwa, Iowa
CHARGES:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) – 3rd or Subsequent Offense
Edward Feeney and Christina Wagner were both transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and held pending initial court appearance.
The Fairfield Police Department was assisted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Wapello County Sheriff’s Office, and 8th Judicial District Probation/Parole.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
