DOUBLE FATALITY TRAFFIC CRASH ON EASTBOUND I-80 AT SR-113(North)
SOLANO COUNTY, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Solano Area office is investigating a single-vehicle traffic crash that resulted in the deaths of two local residents on Sunday afternoon.
On September 6, 2026, at approximately 12:28 p.m., the Golden Gate Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call regarding a vehicle that had traveled off the roadway on eastbound Interstate 80 near the State Route 113(North) interchange.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2011 black Infiniti FX35 SUV was traveling eastbound on I-80 when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into an embankment on the right shoulder.
Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and located two occupants inside the vehicle. The driver, a 56-year-old white female from Dixon, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The sole passenger, a 65-year-old Black male from Vacaville, sustained major injuries and was transported from the scene by ambulance. Tragically, he was pronounced deceased while en route to a local hospital.
The identities of both deceased individuals are being withheld at this time pending positive identification and notification of next of kin by the Solano County Coroner’s Office.
A witness to the crash reported that the driver appeared to be asleep at the wheel just prior to the vehicle leaving the roadway.
At this time, it is unknown if alcohol, drugs, or a medical emergency contributed to this crash. The investigation is ongoing.
