Honoring a Legacy in Fairfield!

On Tuesday, the City of Fairfield proudly recognized former City Manager Art Pizzano for his years of dedicated service and the lasting impact he has made on our community.

During a special ceremony, Mayor Steve Miller unveiled a portrait of Art, painted by local artist Stephen Smith. The portrait will be permanently displayed outside the theater at the Fairfield Community Arts Center as a tribute to Art's leadership, vision and commitment to helping Fairfield grow and thrive.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Fairfield Community Foundation for helping make this special recognition possible.

Please join us in thanking Art for his many years of service and the positive legacy he leaves for generations to come!

🌿 Composting is coming to Fairfield!

The City of Fairfield is excited to launch its first-ever community composting drop-off location at Waterworks Park (5133 Groh Ln.) this June!

Thanks to a grant of approximately $20,000 from the Ohio EPA's Recycle Ohio Grant Program, Fairfield residents will soon have a convenient way to divert food waste from landfills and support a more sustainable community.

Join us for a Composting Pop-Up at the Fairfield Farmers Market on June 17th from 4:00–6:00 p.m! Sustainability Commission member and Composting Ambassador Dona Canaan will be on hand to answer questions, share composting tips, and distribute free at-home compost collection bins while supplies last.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Public Works Open House!

Earlier this week, the City of Fairfield Public Works Department hosted an open house at the Community Arts Center to share information and gather feedback on several important transportation and trail projects, including:

• A proposed roundabout at the River Road, Groh Lane, and Chateau Way intersection
• The River Road West Multi-Use Path between Wessel Drive and Groh Lane
• The Great Miami River Trail Extension connecting Waterworks Park and Marsh Park

Attendees had the opportunity to review project exhibits, ask questions, and speak directly with City staff and our traffic consultant.

As these projects move forward, our team will continue refining designs, incorporating public input whenever practical, and working with residents whose properties or access may be affected.

📝 We still want to hear from you! Additional comments can be submitted to our engineering team through our website: https://www.fairfield-city.org/formcenter/Public-Works-9/Contact-Public-Works-129

More information, updated exhibits, and responses to common questions will be shared through our website, social media channels, and future press releases.

Thank you for helping shape the future of Fairfield's transportation and trail network!

🚧 Road work is underway in Fairfield! 🚧

This week, Barrett Paving began resurfacing approximately 22 lane miles of City streets as part of Fairfield's 2026 Annual Overlay Program.

Before paving began, curb repairs and curb ramp upgrades were completed earlier this year. City crews are also repairing drainage structures and replacing street signs throughout much of the project area.

Crews have begun milling the existing pavement in the Villages of Harbin Park subdivision. A new 1.5-inch surface layer will be installed next.

This nearly $2 million investment helps keep Fairfield's roads safe, reliable, and in good condition for residents and visitors.

📍 See the full list of streets included in this year's program: https://www.fairfield-city.org/1312/2026-Annual-Overlay

As we work to keep Fairfield's roads safe and well-maintained, please use caution around work zones and thank you for your patience as these improvements are completed!
