U.S. EPA BROWNFIELDS CLEANUP ACTIVITIES

Uncommon Augusta, LLC (UA), the current owner, and their representatives will hold a public meeting on the proposed Cleanup
Project for the Olde Federal Building site located at 295 Water Street in Augusta, Maine (the Site). The public meeting will be held at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Augusta
City Hall (in the Learning Gallery) at 16 Cony Street in Augusta, Maine. The Kennebec Valley Council of Government (KVCOG) and the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development (ME DECD) each have an active Unites States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Brownfields Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) grant program. UA has applied to both KVCOG’s and ME DECD’s RLF programs for Brownfields RLF cleanup loans. These funds will be used for proper abatement and management of previously identified hazardous building materials (asbestos-containing materials, leadbased paints, etc.) during Site redevelopment activities. A draft Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA), which includes a draft Conceptual Remedial Action Plan (RAP), has been prepared for this project. The site has also been entered into and is being overseen by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MEDEP) Voluntary Response Action Program (VRAP). UA and its representatives are providing public notice on the availability of the draft ABCA and draft Conceptual RAP, for public review and comment during a 30-day public comment period, which will end on January 3, 2026, at least 30 days after publication of this public notice. Written public comments will be accepted during the 30-day public comment period and can be submitted to TRC Environmental Corporation, 63 Marginal Way, 4 th Floor, Portland, Maine 04101, attention Mr.
