Awarded the Air Force Civilian Achievement Medal, Assistant Chief Muriset excelled as the lead for the emergency response division, supporting the 2026 "Wings Over Solano" Airshow. He directed the safety of more than 130,000 attendees. Chief Muriset expertly synchronized operations across 10 emergency response agencies, integrating 185 first responders spanning three response districts. He also oversaw fire protection for 41 static aircraft, including a CF-18 from the Royal Canadian Air Force.

​Earning reaccreditation is a rigorous, peer-reviewed evaluation that measures an agency against over 250 international performance indicators and industry best practices. Rather than a one-time achievement, maintaining accredited status requires ongoing proof of operational excellence, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.​

This milestone reflects the dedication and professionalism of every firefighter, inspector, dispatcher, and leader across the department. Congratulations to our team on continuing to set the standard for defense and municipal fire services alike.

Whether you’re firing up the grill in the backyard or heading out for a weekend around the campfire, a few simple precautions can help keep your family, friends, and our community safe.

In this quarter’s Travis AFB Fire & Emergency Services Newsletter, we’re highlighting important Grilling & Camping Safety tips, including:

🔥 Campfire safety and proper extinguishment

🚨 Stronger Together, Safer Together! 🚨
As part of our Special Operations section within the department and our area coordination for Hazmat response, Team Travis Fire and Emergency Services recently had the privilege of hosting an extensive joint Hazmat exercise, and it was a massive success!
We were thrilled to welcome the Solano County Hazmat team to the base, bringing together incredible first responders from Benicia, Vallejo, Vacaville, Fairfield, Suisun City, Dixon, and all across the county.
Of course, we couldn't do it without our incredible on-base partners! A huge shoutout to Bioenvironmental Engineering, the Emergency Management Flight, and Aeromedical Evacuation for stepping up and training alongside us. 🤝
The Mission:
To build our joint response capabilities and identify process improvements for when emergencies strike. By training side-by-side, we ensure that whether an incident happens on-base or off-base, our combined teams are ready to respond swiftly, safely, and as one cohesive unit.
