A reminder that all cats, dogs and ferrets in Vermont must receive regular rabies shots. Owners of all domestic dogs and wolf-hybrids more than 6 months old must also license the animal in their town clerk's office.

If your dog is over 6 months old, it needs to be licensed. Licenses help us to evaluate the need for quarantine if an animal bites someone (even accidentally). If your animal is lost, the license tag lets us know whose dog it is and helps us return the animal to it's owner.

License is due by April 1, 2026. Please go to the town clerk with your animal's proof of rabies to get them licensed!

Dog Licenses:
1/1 – 4/1 Unspayed/ Unneutered $17.00; Spayed/Neutered $12.00
4/2-9/30 Unspayed/ Unneutered $19.00 Spayed/Neutered $14.00
10/1-12/31 Unspayed/ Unneutered $17.00; Spayed/Neutered $12.00

Edit: she found home quickly!

“Anyone missing her? She was in the middle of the road. Boot Hill, near Morey. She looks terrified and ran to me. Jumped in the car no problem and wouldn’t leave my lap. She has a PawPro collar on. Her belly was full of icy snow.” Anne Dombek
