Last night at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Fairfield Fire Department was dispatched to a residence for a reported smoke condition from an unknown source.

Upon arrival, Fairfield crews investigated and located a fire within the home’s crawlspace. Firefighters quickly stretched a handline, located the seat of the fire, and began suppression efforts.

Additional Fairfield apparatus and mutual aid companies arrived shortly thereafter to assist with checking for extension and conducting overhaul operations. Thanks to the quick actions of responding crews, the fire was contained before it could spread further throughout the structure.

We thank our members and mutual aid partners for their swift response and continued dedication to protecting our community.

This incident is still ongoing and cleanup efforts continue.

Last night at approximately 8:43 p.m., the Fairfield Fire Department was dispatched to a large warehouse for a reported commercial fire alarm.

Upon arrival, crews encountered a smoke condition inside the building and requested mutual aid companies to assist. Members from Engine 1, Ladder 1, and Engine 2 entered the structure and located a small fire that was being suppressed by the building’s sprinkler system.

Crews quickly extinguished the remaining fire and ventilated the building to remove smoke. Thanks to the early activation of the sprinkler system and the rapid response of firefighters, the incident was contained with minimal damage.

We would like to thank our mutual aid partners for their assistance and continued support.

Yesterday morning, members of the Fairfield Fire Department and Caldwell Fire Department proudly displayed the American flag above the roadway in support of the Police Unity Tour.

Using both ladder trucks, crews assembled prior to the riders passing through town to honor the law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice and support those continuing the ride in their memory.

We thank all participating agencies and riders for their dedication and service.
