A Note from the Director:
Got a Few Minutes? We Need Your Help!

The Town of Fairfield is working with the regional planning agency (MetroCOG) to update the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the Greater Bridgeport Region. The CEDS is a regional economic roadmap designed to create jobs, spur investment, and diversify the local economy. This document has to be updated every five years and is unique in that it requires a public private partnership to fully understand all aspects of the local economy and determine strategies that are critical and actionable.

An updated CEDS is also a pre-requisite for most federal grants involving economic development initiatives including regional infrastructure projects, business technical assistance grants and revolving loan fund programs.

MetroCOG is conducting a very brief survey of area businesses in support of the CEDS. It should only take a few minutes of your time, but your feedback is very valuable in determining our regions priorities.

We appreciate your help and insight as MetroCOG updates the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy.

The Connecticut Port Authority is pleased to announce the launch of its new Community Grant Program, a funding initiative designed to support locally driven projects that create meaningful public benefits for Connecticut’s maritime communities. The program provides grants of up to $10,000 for eligible projects that strengthen connections between residents, visitors, organizations, and Connecticut’s ports, harbors, riverfronts, navigable waterways, and waterfront communities. Competitive projects should demonstrate a direct maritime connection and measurable community impact through improved public access, tourism, community engagement, or planning for future waterfront investments.
