Suisun Fire Protection District . The Suisun Fire Protection District is a volunteer fire department serving approximately 22% of the unincorporated area of Solano County.

The department trains for and responds to all types of emergency incidents including structure and vegetation fires, rescue calls to medical emergencies and public assists. The District operates thirteen pieces of fire apparatus from two fire stations. t Station 33 on Jackson Street near downtown Fairfield. The apparatus includes three structural fire engines five wildland engines, two water tenders, rescue squad and a rescue boat. The District's response area includes Blue Ridge Oaks west of I-80, Suisun Valley (including Twin Sisters) from the Napa County line south, Tolenas, Grizzly Island, the marsh land east of Suisun Creek and Westbound I-80 as far as Suisun Valley Road. The District also participates in auto aid agreements with several other departments in Solano County and is an active participant in the State of California's Master Mutual Aid Plan. When requested, District resources respond outside of the initial response area for larger incidents. The department has assisted other agencies throughout the State when the California Emergency Management Agency requests it. The Suisun Fire Protection district is a full service department with 41 dedicated volunteers. Department members do this at their own expense and on their own time. The membership is like a large family with everyone taking pride in being able to help the community.
