Early this morning Engine 36, Truck 37, and Battalion 37 responded to a vehicle accident in the area of eastbound I-80 west of Suisun Parkway. Engine 36 arrived to find two vehicles involved with one of them on fire. Engine 36 quickly extinguished the vehicle fire while Truck 37 assisted Medic Ambulance with patient care. Only minor injuries were associated with the incident and two patients were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Eastbound I-80 was closed for approximately 30 minutes.

Update from the Plaskett Fire in Monterey County:

Engine 537 is currently working 12 hour shifts and has been assigned to hold containment lines and complete some targeted burning operations.

The fire started August 26th around 11am, with the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Current reports put the fire at 1% contained and 27,580 acres burned. The fire is being managed in unified command unified command by the USFS and California Interagency Team 7.

Fairfield Fire Engine 537 Deployed 🚨

Yesterday at 1600 hours, Fairfield Fire Engine 537 was deployed as part of Solano County Strike Team 2315F to assist with the Timber and Plaskett fire along with units from Benicia Fire Department City of Dixon Fire Department St. Helena Fire Department Calistoga Fire Department

Shortly after 3:00 p.m. on August 20, 2026, Fairfield Fire Department units were dispatched to the 2800 block of Dobe Lane for a reported commercial fire.

Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy fire and smoke conditions involving approximately seven or more storage containers. This video highlights some of the labor-intensive operations performed by firefighters to bring the incident under control.

Due to the size and complexity of the fire, a second alarm was requested, bringing additional resources from the Vacaville and Suisun City fire departments to assist. A small amount of fire also extended into vegetation on the Charlie side, or rear, of the property. That fire was quickly contained by crews arriving as part of the second-alarm response.

Firefighters remained on scene for several hours conducting extensive overhaul and extinguishing remaining hot spots.

At approximately 1830 all Fairfield fire units responded to a second alarm structure fire on San Diego St. Truck 37 arrived on scene within 2 minutes to find heavy fire conditions. A coordinated fire attack by the arriving crews, limited fire spread to the home of origin and the side yard of the neighboring home. No injuries were reported to any residents or firefighters.

Fairfield Fire crews responded this afternoon to a second alarm vegetation and transient camp fire in the area of Cordelia Road and Pennsylvania Avenue along Ledgewood Creek.

The fire involved several recreational vehicles and approximately one-half acre of vegetation. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to two RVs and the surrounding vegetation, preventing further spread.

The incident occurred in the Solano County jurisdiction of Suisun Fire Protection District, Fairfield Fire Department units assisted with the initial response and were released once county resources arrived on scene.

This afternoon, Fairfield Firefighters were dispatched to reports of a commercial fire on Dobe Ln. Crews arrived on scene to find multiple storage units fully engulfed, with adjacent units and vegetation threatened. The fire was upgraded to 2 alarms and damage was kept to a minimum. One civilian was transported to a local hospital with inhalation injuries. No injuries to firefighters have been reported.
