Last week, the Fairfield Police Department proudly hosted our 2026 Junior Police Academy for students entering 7th through 9th grade.
Throughout the week, these outstanding young men and women experienced firsthand what it means to serve their community through law enforcement. Cadets participated in hands-on activities and learned about many aspects of policing, including patrol operations, K-9 demonstrations, criminal investigations, evidence collection, drone operations, traffic enforcement, SWAT, communications, and crime scene processing. They also learned about teamwork, leadership, decision-making, and the importance of building positive relationships between law enforcement and the community.
Our Junior Police Academy is designed to educate, inspire, and foster trust by giving participants an inside look at the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork that goes into keeping our community safe every day.
A special thank you to all of our officers, dispatchers, civilian staff, ,and public safety cadets who dedicated their time and talents to make this year's academy another tremendous success. Your commitment to investing in our youth is what makes this program possible.
Thank you to our JPA cadets for your enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to learn. We hope you left with new friendships, lasting memories, and a greater appreciation for the men and women who proudly serve our community.
We can't wait to see everyone again next year!
