Mom shakes the jar.

It’s your favorite time of the week—even though you would never admit that out loud.

You pull the slip.

MPBC – 15 Pioneer Church.

You make that face. You know the one. The full eye roll so deep it feels like it should come with a warning label.

Come on. You’re a teenager. You’re supposed to hate forced family time.

But Mom wouldn’t have added MetroParks of Butler County if there wasn’t something worth doing.

“Well… okay. Make sure you’re ready for some geocaching. And take your camera. No telling what wildlife we’ll see today.”

Darn.

Dad caught the twinkle before you even made it to your gear.

And just like that, the attitude softens into curiosity.

Because somehow… it always does.

With over 20 parks to explore, MetroParks of Butler County turns “we’re just going for a walk” into a new adventure every time—hidden trails, unexpected finds, and moments you didn’t plan but end up remembering.

So go ahead—pull a slip, pick a park, and see where it takes you.

When leaders come together and opportunity meets preparedness, “one day” suddenly becomes today.

At the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for The Market at Shared Harvest, Terry Perdue shared the story behind the dream that became The Market at Shared Harvest.

You can feel the respect, empathy, and compassion woven into every part of this space. Neighbors are being seen. They are being heard. And the needs they walked in carrying are being met with dignity.

It’s hard to fully put into words the emotion flowing through this place. Truly well done.

And when Terry was asked, “What’s next?” … that look in his eyes said everything. A little mischievous. A little visionary. The kind of sparkle that usually means lives are about to change. 👀
