🚨 Swimming Advisory – Waterworks Park Beach 🚨
Routine water testing at Waterworks Park Beach found E. coli levels above the state's recommended threshold for swimming.

A follow-up water sample will be collected on June 15, 2026, and results will be shared once they become available.

City staff are actively monitoring weather and flooding conditions across the community as periods of heavy rainfall continue to move through Fairfield.

Residents may notice higher water levels in local creeks, drainage channels, and low-lying areas. While these waterways can sometimes appear calm, conditions can change rapidly. Fast-moving water, hidden debris, slippery banks, and unexpected depths make them extremely dangerous.

Parents and caregivers: Please remind children that flooded creeks and stormwater channels are never safe places to swim, wade, or play, even if they appear calm.

As we continue to monitor conditions, we ask everyone to stay safe by:
🚧 Staying away from swollen creeks, streams, and drainage areas.
🏊‍♂️ Remembering that flooded waterways are not safe for swimming or playing, because you cannot tell how deep the water is or what hazards may be below the surface.
🚗 Never drive through flooded roadways. Even a small amount of moving water can sweep a vehicle off the road. Turn Around, Don't Drown.
👀 Staying weather aware and using extra caution while traveling.

City staff will continue to keep an eye on conditions and respond as needed. Thank you for helping protect yourself, your family, and our community.

☀️ Limit strenuous outdoor activity.
☀️ Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
☀️ Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat.

Need an excuse to avoid being outside? We've got you covered.
