As the snow tapers off this evening and you begin to shovel driveways/walkways, please remember to dig out your fire hydrant and keep a 3-foot area around it clear of snow to help FFD have easy access in case of emergency.

When shoveling, take frequent breaks and stay hydrated. Thank you for helping us keep Fairfield fire-safe!

Although the accumulating snow will end from west to east this evening, snow-covered roads may create difficult travel conditions into the day Monday. Additional accumulations of generally 1-3" can be expected through early this evening.

Prepare yourself and your home for impacts of this weekend’s winter weather!

🏠Make plans to stay home and avoid being on the roadways, as travel will likely be hazardous. Stock up on essential food supplies before the winter weather strikes.
❄️ Take frequent breaks and stay hydrated while clearing or shoveling snow.
🚗 If you must drive this weekend, be sure your car has plenty of fuel and windshield wiper fluid, and is stocked with an emergency kit.
📺 Stay tuned to local media for regular weather updates and alerts.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the entire area. Impactful winter weather begins Saturday with the worst conditions arriving on Sunday. Travel may remain difficult into next week as snow/ice removal will be difficult due to cold temperatures.
