In Fairfield Bay, we honor the true meaning of the Stars and Stripes: "Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it."
Never forget. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

One of Arkansasโ€™s most spectacular ancient geological wonders, the Indian Rock Cave & Trail in Fairfield Bay offers an incredible look at thousands of years of human history. The absolute highlight of this site is the massive bluff shelter cave, which measures an impressive 100 feet wide and 50 feet tall. As a premier destination for viewing ancient Native American rock art, the cave walls feature authentic petroglyphs of human figures and geometric shapes etched into the stone over 500 years ago.

The family-friendly loop trail is roughly a half-mile long, winding right alongside scenic bluffs and the Indian Hills Golf Course. Visitors can even rent a golf cart to ride straight to the cave entrance! The deep history of this grand stone shelter stretches back to 1000 B.C., when primitive people utilized the bluff for protection from the elements. Over the centuries, it grew into a major meeting ground for nations like the Osage and Cherokee. The historic path begins right at a 1970s Log Cabin Museum, making it a perfect quick stop for adventure.
