Our membership consists of nearly 1800 active and retired firefighters, paramedics, 911 communications, and apparatus fleet mechanics from the Fire and Rescue Department. Our members provide emergency services to over 1 million citizens residing or visiting within 404 square miles of Fairfax County property.

March with us this Independence Day! We need volunteers (union, non-union, active and retired) to march and ride apparatus as part of our parade unit. Your family is welcome to join and ride apparatus. Free t-shirt giveaway and award for the station with highest attendance! After parade event at Auld Shebeen with food and drinks for all!

Details: Saturday, July 4th. Staging begins at 0800 at Page Ave by the courthouse. Water and snacks provided. Uniformed members should wear Class As. Parade runs from 1000-1200

𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲: 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝟯 | 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝟮 🚒🏒🚔

In a hard-fought battle on the ice, Fairfax County Police Department brought the pressure, but our members of Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department found a way to finish strong and came away with a 3–2 win.

More importantly, this game was about far more than the scoreboard.

The stands were packed with incredible support for the Firefighter Cancer Support Network, Virginia and for the families of our brothers and sisters we’ve lost in the line of duty due to occupational cancer.

This is what it’s all about
Competition. Camaraderie. Community.

Thank you to everyone who came out, donated, and stood with us.

We may have taken the win on the ice, but the real victory is continuing to raise awareness and support those who need it most.

When firefighters are overworked, reaction times slow, mistakes increase, and long-term health suffers.

A well-rested firefighter is safer for everyone.

For years, Dave “Moose” Saunders has been serving the residents of Fairfax County as a Fire Lieutenant. Off duty, he takes on another important role, bringing joy to children and families as Santa Claus through his business, Santa Department 25.

Moose has spent years creating special moments for families across our community. Now he has an opportunity to grow that business and reach even more people.

$𝟮𝟬𝟲,𝟰𝟳𝟲. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

That’s what the residents and visitors of Fairfax County helped raise during last year’s Fill the Boot campaign… making it once again the 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Every dollar goes toward fighting ALS, funding research, expanding access to care, and supporting families who need it most. This is what happens when a community shows up.

A huge thank you to 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝗲𝗹 𝗞𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻 for his leadership and dedication as our MDA Lead. His hard work continues to drive this mission forward year after year.

Thank you to Chief John Butler for his continued support of this important initiative and for standing with our members in making a difference.

And most importantly, thank you to everyone who donated. Your generosity is changing lives.

Planning is already underway for this year’s campaign. Be on the lookout for our members out “Filling the Boot” this Labor Day weekend in September.

𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝗺 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗮: 𝗔 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Captain Kim Schoppa on the fourth anniversary of her Line of Duty Death.

Captain Schoppa was a deeply respected member of our department who dedicated her career to serving others with kindness, compassion, and unwavering leadership. She touched countless lives, not just as an exceptional firefighter and mentor, but as a friend to so many within our fire service family.

Kim’s courageous battle with occupational cancer reminds us of the very real risks firefighters face every day. Her legacy lives on in the lives she impacted, the example she set, and the love she shared with all who had the privilege to know her.

Today, and every day, we remember Captain Schoppa. We honor her. We miss her. We carry her spirit forward in our service to our community and to one another.
