Towards our community outreach and HIV/STI prevention pursuits, on Wednesday, October 25th at 7PM, Inova Juniper's The GMHC Crew is hosting another free Sip & Paint event at Green Lantern. This event is in celebration of the Halloween, Spooky season & S*x Positivity. It is proven that framing sexuality and the interactions therein more positively can reduce stigma, thus giving credence to greater sexual health awareness. As a symbol of reclaiming and honoring all of our unique parts and dimensions of being this Halloween season. Participants are welcomed and encouraged to wear Halloween costumes of any type (Not Required).

The event will feature a live model, FREE FOOD/ REFRESHMENTS, and FREE On-Site, Confidential Rapid HIV testing!

In recognition of Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, join the GMHC for an educational “sip and paint” conversation featuring Dr. Ravi Perry, an expert on Black politics, minority representation, urban politics, American public policy, and LGBTQ rights. This event will feature free, confidential on-site rapid HIV testing for those interested.

*Though the event is open to all, sip and paint seats are limited to first come first serve. Registration via Eventbrite required.

Today, February 7th, is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Instead of listing off statistics, which are important in the right time and place, let’s use this day as a day for us to look back but also a day for us to look ahead.

Today, and everyday, we remember those who are Black/African-American and have passed away due to HIV/AIDS related illnesses.

Today we also pause to recognize those who are long term survivors and the person newly diagnosed. Today is also a day for us to renew our commitment to erasing the stigma and to ensuring that each person living with HIV/AIDS has access to quality services and treatment.
