The National Capital Region Incident Management Team (NCR-IMT) is assisting Fairfax County with planning for the 25th Anniversary 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony.

From planning and coordination to supporting public safety operations, the IMT is helping ensure this important event honors the lives lost, the heroes who responded, and the lasting impact of September 11, 2001.

🗺️ NCR IMT members are currently taking SARCOP training to strengthen GIS capabilities, enhance situational awareness, and improve field data collection for emergency response operations.

The Incident Management Team Association has put out their call for presentations for the upcoming annual conference being held in Hershey, PA (Feb 9-11). Proposals are due August 12th!

What We’re Looking For:
· All-Hazards Position Specific Courses and Instructors during the Symposium Training Academy (February 5-8, 2027)
· General Sessions focusing on leadership, mental wellness, or other related topics.
· Breakout Sessions related to 2027 theme: "Many Lines: One Mission - Interagency Cooperation

We’re proud to have two of our IMT members, who also serve with USA-01, deploying to Venezuela. Wishing the entire team a safe and successful mission!

USA-01 is mobilizing a 79-person, 6-dog heavy urban search and rescue team for the U.S. Department of State response to the Venezuelan earthquakes.

NCR IMT members are assisting the U.S. Coast Guard during Sail 250 in Norfolk, providing support in planning, logistics, operations, and public information. Proud to support this historic event through regional partnership and collaboration.

The NCR Incident Management Team hosted a New Member Orientation today. This year, we've welcomed 18 new members, including two from a new federal partner agency, strengthening our regional all-hazards response capabilities.

Today, team members attended NTSB Investigator Training, learning about aviation accident investigations, family assistance, media coordination, aircraft recovery, and multi-agency response. Case studies included Asiana Flight 214 and the recent DCA midair collision.
