Yamassee Nation of Florida/ South Carolina Once thought extinct, the most influential Native american Nation has resurrected! The Yamasee Native Americans last seen in Northern Florida has returned.

Being called one of the bloodiest wars of the creek muscogee people the "Yamasee war of 1715" Being called one of the bloodiest wars of the creek muscogee people the "Yamasee war of 1715"
The Yamassee Native Americans are historically written into history as one of the most monumental tribes during the wars of the 1700's. Constantly fighting with the English & Spanish Colonist, for Freedom & betra

yal . Mostly known for the Yamassee War of 1715 the Yamassee Native Americans are part of the Muscogee which is a comprise of various tribes that lived on the Mid west to the east coast. According to their current Online Census documents The Yamassee Muskogee Nation are comprised, mostly of Cherokee, Yamassee Pure Blood (From The South Carolina, Georgia & St. Augustine Area (Gentle's),Catawba, Choctaw, Yuchi, Seminole, Black foot, Shoshone, Iroquois, & Taino. Predominately all of the tribes that were under the Muskogee Nation protection at the time of the treaty as stated in the Treaty of Camp Holmes, Coweta Resolution. And The Treaty of Savannah & The Indian Land treaty

According to historical Data and Books written by Several European Author's, the Yamassee were thought to be extinct, based on the war of 1715, the Yamassee continued to have conflict with the English , And Spaniards, whom Both mis treated the Yamassee Native Americans, and attempted Slavery. In these wars the Yamassee always seemed to be able to recruit other tribes to share in the war. Like the Apalachee tribe, Choctaw, Catawba, Seminole & More! Documents prove the Yamassee did not take a lost by them selves, but the countless Yamassee bodies thought to be found in the battle field were that of their fallen Brother who stood beside them to help in the war as history shows. Countless Sources Prove the mass genocide of the Yamassee to be incorrect. Re-Reading history books that make the claim of complete annihilation ,shows it was never definite all the Yamassee were destroyed only Assumed. As in Present day " Altamaha Cherokee" Descendants of the Yamassee stilling living in Present Day Georgia & Florida. Who has traced and Proven their Blood lineage to the Yamassee. There are also Proof of Yamassee bloodline still in the St. Augustine, Tallahassee Area, still carrying their Tribal name of "Gentle" that claim their " Yamassee Ancestor y "
According to Author J.H. Howard in a book title" The Yamasee: A Supposedly Extinct Southeastern Tribe Rediscovered the Yamassee are living where they currently was last reported in history books. This story of annihilation was also perpetuated on a another tribe the Yamassee Mixed with and fought with. Who also had supposedly suffered the same fate as the Yamassee, the " Apalachee Indians" were also said to be Extinct " Apalachee Extinct Quote". But online research shows they are not extinct and have a Functioning Government under the guidance of Chief Gilmer Bennett. A large mistake of mass genocide and writing a people off the books be over looked. When current proof shows the statement "extinct" is obviously wrong for the Apalachee Indians, who are through history Brothers, of the Yamassee and had a large number less of tribal members than the Yamassee. Now Federally Acknowledged

The Yamassee Muskogee Nation is Federally Recognized by "Case Law" In California, in cases pertaining to Child Welfare cases, involving Yamassee Muskogee Native children and To have a Court of Competent jurisdiction and all the children being wards of the Nation. The Yamassee also have acknowledgment by the Federal Court of Claims, in cases brought forth. Creek Treaty of 1866 signed by Cow Tom of the Yamassee. . The Yamassee outlined according to Treaty rights, their sovereign status as a Recognized nation under the Muskogee stock and Natives to the Land before European Colonization and according to the Treaty of Camp Holmes, the treaty of 1707 Yamasee Indian Land Treaty, "Treaty of Savannah 1733" Signed by Tomochichi of the Yamacraw Yamasee. Also they Yamasee are apart of the Coweta Resolution. Note: The Treaty of Camp Holmes is one the only few treaties of Peace & friendship. The Yamassee recently filed a Intention to Petition, but has recently rescinded that Petition, because they are Already recognized by Legislature (Case Law) and Treaties under the Five Civilized tribes considered Creeks. They only want the land they Once had, to be left alone to finish what they started by their ancestors. The Yamassee perpetuates complete autonomy, from the government and Utilizes the UN Declaration of Indigenous People. Currently the Yamassee has a Provisional Government in Place.
