Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and freed enslaved people two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.
Today, we honor the resilience, strength, and contributions of Black Americans and recognize those who have continued the fight for justice and equality.
From abolition to the Civil Rights Movement and beyond, advocacy has been the driving force behind impactful change.
As advocates for children, we are reminded daily that every voice matters and that change begins with us.
