www.hireus.org See also: http://youtu.be/yBxOy9daOuQ *The Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities (GCEPD) is a permanent statewide committee established in 1963 by the Vermont legislature to promote the employment of people with disabilities. Its 21 members represent a broad cross section of individuals from business, disability groups, government, and service providers.

Through education and outreach activities it provides support and resources to employers and job seekers to facilitate the employment and accommodation of people of all abilities. The GCEPD’s mission is to promote equal employment for all citizens of Vermont by advising the Governor on current issues affecting employment of people with disabilities, and through partnerships between business, government, and people with disabilities.

Last week, we proudly hosted our previous Spirit of the ADA Award ceremony at Copley Hospital in Morrisville to celebrate our Morrisville area winners.

👏 Congratulations to this year’s honorees: Copley Hospital, Price Chopper Morrisville, Maplefields Morrisville, Ocean State Job Lots, Fairfield Inn & Suites Waterbury/Stowe, and the Von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort.

Last week, our Committee headed South to honor three employers in the Bellows Falls/Brattleboro area with 2025 Spirit of the ADA Awards. We were thrilled to honor:

🏆 Special Needs Support Center (SNSC)– White River Junction

Each year, the Vermont Governor’s Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities (GCEPD) recognizes Vermont employers who go above and beyond to create inclusive, accessible, and supportive workplaces with our Spirit of the ADA award. This year, we are honoring 28 Vermont employers!

We kicked off our award ceremonies this week in Rutland, where we honored Walmart for its unwavering commitment to accessibility in the workplace. A powerful quote from the award nomination reads, “The Walmart team shows that inclusion, flexibility, and empathy are the foundations of a strong and supportive workplace."

We’re kicking off the 2025 Spirit of the ADA Awards!

These awards celebrate Vermont employers who go above and beyond to create inclusive, accessible, and supportive workplaces for people with disabilities. 🌟

We are celebrating 28 Vermont employers this year and will be hosting regional events around the state over the next three weeks.
