434 new COVID cases in Fairfax reported today. That is 37% of all reported daily new cases in the state. But it make sense to look more on long term trends and totals in comparisons considering the recent fluctuations in daily reported cases.

Fairfax remains a major driver in the state. 13% of the state population but 25% of cases, 28% of hospitalizations, and 27% of deaths.

A large number of new cases reported today (1,483) but a very low number of cases was reported yesterday (495). It's never good with a high number but the avg of the two days is not that dramatic. VA COVID-19 Dashboard - https://bit.ly/2RI2iWl

Also, 64% of the new cases are reported in Fairfax (https://bit.ly/3enBzYE), Prince William (https://bit.ly/2XAmrBi), and Loudoun (https://bit.ly/3aGvX95). All reported low numbers yesterday.

Closing out the week nicely with lower numbers after the high on Thursday. 495 new cases reported today. Lower numbers are often reported on Sunday's but this is a really modest number and the the lowest daily increase since April 20. Arlington County reporting a higher daily increase at 69 new cases but it was preceded by a day with a very low count of 9 (lowest since April 3) so the avg of only the last two days is normal. Arlington COVID-19 Dashboard - https://bit.ly/3ahcD1D

Encouraging COVID report today. 799 new cases in the state. Hospitalizations really low - 36 new. Some higher case reports in smaller localities - Sussex and Page.

Subsiding numbers after the recent spike in Culpeper continues - forth strait with decline. Accomack low daily increase for 6 days.

The spike on Thursday with 1,229 new cases is down to 813 new cases on Friday. The uptick Thursday was driven by the DC area. 54% of the daily increase was from Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William while they make up 24% of the state population.

Hospital resources following a trendline with slowly increasing the number of occupied beds, while ICU and ventilator availability going up. Resources available on a state level.

1,005 new COVID cases reported in Virginia. It's a high number and a 3.2% daily increase but not a spike and in line with previous high daily counts.

Testing is following an interesting pattern with a build-up day, four days with decent numbers, a ramp down day, and then a really low test count day. Only 5,477 test reported today.

Bed availability going down slowly. ICU and ventilator metrics good.
