Over 47,000 visitors at SkyFest 2026 got to experience the incredible talent of our Michael Anderson Elementary School students! 🎨🇺🇸

In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, these young artists shared their unique perspectives on what it means to be an American.

Congratulations to our grade-level winners, who were personally recognized and awarded wing patches by 92d ARW Commander, Col. Chad Cisewski and CMSgt Moon!

This last Thursday, the Fairchild School Liaison Program and the Military Family Readiness Center teamed up to host a Teamwork Challenge for the 4th graders at Michael Anderson Elementary during their Annual Camp Reed Field Trip!

The students spent two amazing days out at the YMCA's Camp Reed connecting with nature and each other. They had the unique opportunity to learn real-world survival skills from our very own Fairchild AFB SERE instructors, tackled teamwork challenges, and experienced the great outdoors firsthand. 🤝🦅

We are so proud of these 4th graders for stepping up to the challenge and working together!

As your School Liaison, I want to share some important enrollment information from the Cheney School District. To support our families arriving during the summer PCS season, the Cheney School District is opening its school offices for special summer enrollment dates.

The district specifically sets this time aside to ensure our military-connected students can smoothly transition and get registered before the school year starts.

In-Person Summer Enrollment Dates:

Thursday, July 23 Noon - 4:00 p.m.

CAMP IMAGINE: Rising 1st-5th grade students can stay engaged this summer with hands-on art projects and STEM challenges at mini-day camps with Spokane Public Schools.

The four-day sessions will be held from 8 a.m. to noon over three weeks in July at five elementary school locations: Browne, Garfield, Linwood, Willard and Camp Adams.

If your children attend or will soon attend the Cheney School District, please be aware that newly approved school boundaries have been announced.

When does this happen?
The new zoning takes effect for the 2027-2028 school year, giving our community plenty of time to prepare for the transition.

RECOMMENDED BOUNDARIES APPROVED BY BOARD OF DIRECTORS: During the Wednesday, May 13 Board meeting, the School Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve the updated elementary boundaries as recommended. This decision provides District families more than a year to adjust to these changes before they go into effect for the 2027-2028 school year.

A huge thank you to the community-led Boundary Review Community Partners Team who worked over the course of several months to find the best possible boundary scenario for all of our students and families.
