Fairburn Fire The Fairburn Fire Department, a fully functional career department, began operation April 1, 2006. The Fire Department is directed by Fire Chief Stephen Hood.

The Fairburn Fire Department consists of an Administrative Division, a Fire Marshal’s Office, a Training Division, and an Operations Division. The Fire Marshal’s Division is managed by Chief Pat McCarragher. The Training Division is lead by Division Chief Jon B. Fore. Each Division commander reports directly to the Assistant Chief. ment personnel work a typical 24/48 schedule. This schedule, also known as a “Kelly Schedule” means that personnel report for a period of 24 hours on duty and then have 48 hours off duty. The department responds to any and all emergencies requiring fire department assistance in the City of Fairburn. The department is a licensed First Responder recognized by the State of Georgia. Each units responds with a Paramedic and all Advanced Life Support equipment pertinent to that responsibility. Each unit carries everything you’d find on an ambulance other than a stretcher. We answer a multitude of calls including fires, emergency medical services, hazardous material and service calls. We provide automatic aid and mutual aid to surrounding cities and counties.
